11/18/09 Update

Hartman Party  - Friday, November 27, 700PM

If you are attending the Hartman Party on Friday night (a free event), please note this is BYOB... and if you can, please bring a snack or appetizer.  

Midnight at the Movies - November 27 (midnight)
Thanks for voting for the movie!  It looks like Ferris Buehler's Day Off won the most votes.  We'll gather at the Edge Theater a little before midnight.  FREE POPCORN! 

Sherling Lake BBQ - Saturday, November 28, 1-6PM
Please come to our BBQ!  We have a pavilion near the playground.  Bring your footballs, soccer balls, frisbees!  Wear your black and gold.  And bring a side item or a dessert.

Ritz Gala - Saturday, November 28, 730PM
Please note the start time of the Ritz Gala as 730pm.  You can arrive as early as 6:30pm.  If you've prepaid for a ticket, we'll have your name at the door.  House opens at 7pm.  Please invite all of your friends and family to attend.  It is open to everyone, not just reunion folks.  Kids are certainly invited too, however..  there is mature language in theater production, so take that into consideration.

Saturday Night Barn Party

The barn party will begin immediately following the Ritz Gala on Saturday night, November 28th (sometime between 10:00-10:30pm).  BYOB. Here are directions from downtown Greenville: 

Head East on Commerce St to the courthouse and turn right and go South on Conecuh St to Mobile Hwy (US 31), then go straight across... it will  turn into Halso Mill Rd (CR 45).

When you cross the bridges (1.1 miles) stay to the left to remain on Halso Mill Rd (CR 59).

Go 4.9 miles and turn left on St. Francis Church Rd (CR 32).

The barn is 0.8 miles on the right just before the stop sign at
Davenport Rd (CR 69).

School Tours

New Campus - 11 am - Saturday, November 28th
We will meet at the front of the school a few minutes prior to 11am.  School principal Dr. Charles Farmer will give a short presentation in the media center then we will tour the facility.  The entire event should take about 45 minutes.  BRING YO

Old Campus - 12 pm - Saturday, November 28th
Amy Harrison Bryan is conducting the tour of the old campus.  We need to meet at the front office of the main building a few minutes prior to noon.  We'll see building 1 & 2, the gym, band room, the art room & ROTC building.  We'd like to take a group photo during the tour, so bring you cameras!

Childcare / Babysitter

BBQ

If you are coming to the BBQ at Sherling Lake, don’t forget to bring a side dish or dessert (if possible)…and wear your school colors! 

Barn Party – Saturday night, November 28th

For those looking for something to do late Saturday night after the Ritz Gala, please join us for a barn party.  This is a free event.  Location and directions will be passed out at both the BBQ and the Rita Gala, but if you would like me to email you directions, just send me a note and I’ll get that to you.  We are gathering out at the barn immediately following the Ritz Gala… it’s BYOB…and you might want to bring a snack!  From what I understand there is running water and heat at the barn as well as working bathrooms.  YAY!

Friday night contingency Plan

GHS is undefeaed this year and has made it through the first round of playoffs.  This is exciting news!  What does this mean for our reunion?  Well, if GHS continues to win to the 3rd round of playoffs, then they will play an ‘away’ game the evening of Friday, November 27th.  If this happens, then the Hartman party will be canceled and we will come up with another activity for folks to do while in town that evening.  We will keep you posted!
